About Me

I am a mosaic artist and educator, who is based in Ashland, Oregon, USA. I produce glass mosaic wall hangings that depict intimate botanical scenes or native landscapes and wildflowers of the western US, often with elements of fire or water -- and nearly always without human or human artifacts.

I have been awarded top accolades in international competitions in mosaics, glass, and all-media. I have had the honor to exhibit and present at mosaic conferences in Australia, England, Italy, Turkey and USA. My mosaics have been featured in popular press and coffee-table books, trade journals, art magazines and advertisements for art competitions and organizations.

I served as artist-in-residence at Crater Lake National Park, Uroboros Glass, and Olive Stack's Fine Art Gallery. I offer workshops on my unusual techniques, and in that space I teach my approach to depicting realism through chaos (forget about andamento, grinding and grouting!) as well as my signature direct methods.
